MILLENNIUM ARCHERS

If you are interested in trying archery for yourself, or perhaps taking a group of beginners to an archery "taster" session," you might like to consider the following points :

  • Archery is perfectly safe when carried out properly
  • It is not "hard" as the equipment we use in introductory courses is specially designed for beginners; it does, however, require SOME physical effort
  • It is a very enjoyable sport and one which can give a great sense of achievement to even the least "sporty" amongst us
  • Almost anyone can take part although with certain medical conditions (eg. muscular or skeletal problems, heart disease, epilepsy etc.) medical advice should be sought beforehand and permission obtained from the participant's GP
  • Participants need to dress sensibly : it is an outdoor activity and we can't guarantee the weather!
  • As with many activities, long hair MUST be tied back for safety; loose clothing should be avoiced particularly sleeves, although the bracer worn on the bow arm will help keep sleeve cuffs out of the way
